Acer Aspire 5 (A515-56-347N) Short Review
Specifications - 15.6 Inch Full HD IPS display, Intel Core 11th Gen i3-1115G4 processor, Intel UHD Graphics iGPU, 8 GB DDR4 RAM, 128 GB NVMe SSD storage, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, one USB Type-C port, one HDMI port, one Rj-45 Ethernet port, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm jack, HD Webcam.
Display - Full HD IPS display is good for the price range. Thin side bezels will make viewing better even outdoors. Best suited for everyone.
Processor - 11th Gen Intel Core i3-1115G4 processor is suitable for above-medium tasks. If you are a daily user with medium usage, want a laptop under $500, go for this laptop.
Graphics - Intel UHD iGPU is for display purposes. Low graphic and old games can be played without issues. But high graphic games will show lag even in low settings. Playing high graphic games is not recommended.
RAM - 8 GB DDR4 RAM is reasonable for the price. For medium usage, this RAM is sufficient. If you open many applications at once and open many browser tabs, you may feel the lag.
Storage - Very less storage even for the price range. 128 GB is low in general, but it is a personal choice to make.
Battery - We can expect around 5 hours of battery life in general usage.
Suited For - Students, teachers, entry level software developers on a budget and everyone who needs a laptop for medium usage (if you don't bother battery life).
Not Suited For - Gamers, heavy users, want more battery life on a single charge.
Conclusion
This is an old spec'd laptop when I was writing this article. With these specs, if you get a discounted price in 2024 or beyond, go for it. This model also features Alexa built-in. So the choice is yours.
